Accountant - fixed assets (St. Louis, MO)

Rivermark Sparrow Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around St. Louis, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 110 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fare systems, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around survey data against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with fare systems. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in St. Louis. • We reply to every applicant.
