Accountant - fixed assets (St. Louis, MO)

Ironwood Community Partners is a nonprofit in St. Louis supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 715 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
