Accountant - fixed assets (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Summit Maple Manufacturing Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 83 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with machine downtime.
