Accountant - fixed assets (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Basin Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 136 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
