Accountant - fixed assets (Spokane, WA)

Bluepeak Fern Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Spokane, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 941 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fleet maintenance, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fleet maintenance. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
