Accountant - fixed assets (Spokane, WA)

Greenridge Thistle Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 37 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
