Accountant - fixed assets (Savannah, GA)

Rivermark Legal Group is a Savannah practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with court deadlines. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
