Accountant - fixed assets (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Field Water Authority and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around water quality against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
