Accountant - fixed assets (Savannah, GA)

Stonegate Wren Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Savannah, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
