Accountant - fixed assets (Savannah, GA)

Rivermark Granite Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
