Accountant - fixed assets (San Jose, CA)

Ironwood Meridian Farms is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for seasonal crews, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 53 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with seasonal crews. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
