Accountant - fixed assets (San Jose, CA)

Northwind Harbor Telecom Group builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the San Jose area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tickets, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer tickets. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
