Accountant - fixed assets (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Ashton Civic Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. We follow procedures carefully and explain them clearly. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with procurement. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
