Accountant - fixed assets (San Jose, CA)

Westbrook Willow Staffing is a San Jose staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around temp assignments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with timekeeping. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
