Accountant - fixed assets (San Diego, CA)

Bluepeak Hollow Energy Group is an energy provider in San Diego focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with usage data. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
