Accountant - fixed assets (San Diego, CA)

Summit Loom Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for learning materials, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 946 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
