Accountant - fixed assets (San Diego, CA)

Ironwood Cedar Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across San Diego. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
