Accountant - fixed assets (San Antonio, TX)

Westbrook Union Energy delivers power and gas plans across the San Antonio region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 926 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
