Accountant - fixed assets (Salt Lake City, UT)

Westbrook Forge Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 34 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
