Accountant - fixed assets (Salt Lake City, UT)

Northwind Birch Arts Center Partners is a cultural organisation in Salt Lake City presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with volunteer programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Salt Lake City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
