Accountant - fixed assets (Salt Lake City, UT)

Stonegate Cross Legal Group is a law firm in Salt Lake City serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around intake forms against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with trust accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
