Accountant - fixed assets (Sacramento, CA)

Cedar Maple Housing Partners is a nonprofit housing provider in Sacramento, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 103 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around resident services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with waiting lists. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
