Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Northwind Pine Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Richmond plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around bindery work against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with press runs. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
