Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Foxglove Quill Foods is a Richmond food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with customer specifications. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
