Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Redstone Iron Learning Group Partners is an education provider in Richmond serving students and families, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
