Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Clearpath Orchard Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Track costs around accessibility audits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
