Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Northwind Lakeside Telecom is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for outage reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with outage reports. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
