Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Umber Hospitality Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Promotion from within is common. What you will do • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
