Accountant - fixed assets (Reno, NV)

Northwind Lakeside Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Reno, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Reno. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field visits. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
