Accountant - fixed assets (Reno, NV)

Harborlight Juniper Banking Services is a regional lender in Reno with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with deposit accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
