Accountant - fixed assets (Reno, NV)

Fernwood Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Reno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 551 people based in Reno. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around grower contracts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Reno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
