Accountant - fixed assets (Reno, NV)

Lumen Stone Transit Planning Partners helps transport agencies around Reno design routes and schedules, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people based in Reno. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
