Accountant - fixed assets (Reno, NV)

Silverline Rowan Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Reno, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
