Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bluepeak Maple Construction is a Phoenix contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to change orders, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with change orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Phoenix. • We reply to every applicant.
