Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Harborlight Bright Insurance is an insurance company in Columbus with claims and service teams. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
