Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Redstone Wilder Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meal programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
