Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Clearpath Junction Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Chicago. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 114 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to student accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
