Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Foxglove Orchard Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Jackson serving households and small businesses, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
