Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Clearpath Drift Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Knoxville, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 16 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. • Track costs around seasonal crews against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
