Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Rivermark Ridge Markets serves neighbourhoods around Virginia Beach with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with online orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
