Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Summit Vista Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 187 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer complaints. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
