Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Redstone Yarrow Hospitality and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with reviews and feedback. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
