Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Ironwood Cross Banking Services Group is a community-focused bank in Houston serving households and small businesses. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
