Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Redstone Junction Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Madison, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with payment disputes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
