Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Rook Staffing Group is a Anchorage staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around client orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
