Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Westbrook Fern Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the San Diego area, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Promotion from within is common. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around housekeeping schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
