Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Nova Drift Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Louisville with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Louisville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
