Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Foxglove Sparrow Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Sacramento, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
