Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Cedar Fox Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
