Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Summit Thistle Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Richmond, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 957 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
